Premier Animal Science Events (PASE) & Life Challenge

PASE Awards

Results for the Monday Contests (Quiz Bowl, Skill-a-thon, Meats and Poultry) will be announced Monday evening during the PASE/Life Challenge Picnic and NIFA Awards Presentation. Results for the Livestock Judging Contests will be announced Tuesday afternoon following the contest and discussion of official placings (provided tabulation is complete). Ribbons must be picked up by county staff or their representatives following the announcement of winners.

The top placing individual in each of the judging contests will receive a scholarship from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Individuals of the top placing Skill-a-thon team will receive a scholarship from the College of Agricultural and Natural Resources. Individuals of the top placing Sr. Quiz Bowl team will receive a scholarship from the Animal Science Scholarship from the Animal Science Department.

The top three individuals in each of the judging contest will receive medals: Gold (1st), Silver (2nd) and Bronze (3rd). Gift Cards and ribbons will be awarded to the top 5 placing individuals in the Poultry & Meats contests, top 10 placings in the Livestock Judging contests. Ribbons will also be awarded to each member of the five highest point teams. All youth and visitors are encouraged to stay for awards announcements.

Participation in the Premier Animal Science Events could result in a scholarship to UNL!!

Guidelines for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Scholarships.

  • $500 Scholarship offered to 4-H member placing first in one of the judging contests (Sr. Livestock Judging, Dairy Judging, Poultry Judging, Meats Judging.)
  • $250 Scholarship offered to each member of the top placing Skill-a-thon team.
  • 4-H member must be enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources in their freshman year at UNL.
  • Cannot be awarded more than one scholarship for participation in PASE.
  • Scholarship not available to transfer students from another institution or to students who change their major from another college.

Guidelines for the Animal Science Department Scholarships offered at PASE.

  • $250 Scholarship offered to each member of the top placing Quiz Bowl team.
  • 4-H member must be enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and declare an Animal Science major in the first semester of their freshman year at UNL.
  • Cannot be awarded more than one scholarship for participation in PASE.
  • Scholarship not available to transfer students from another institution or to students who change their major from another college.
